One more thought...

Something I read in an Oswald Chambers devotional a few weeks ago, that has been on my mind constantly, and that I write everywhere these days...

God doesn't always show you what He's going to do, but He always shows you who He is. So as we draw near to Him, and allow Him to reveal Himself to us, we begin to walk with Him, and we begin to see God's will as we learn to see Him.

Don't just ask "God, give me a job to do." Ask, "God, show me what's on Your heart."
